Pacific Community Design is hiring for a Senior Civil Engineer. The Senior Civil Engineer is responsible for highly complex specific phases of a major engineering project or function. Using your experience, you will spearhead the design and planning stages, set goals and objectives, manage budgets and timelines, and maintain documents of these assigned complex projects. Above all, you will lead and serve as a role model to fellow engineers and contractors through mentoring and training.
Responsibilities, Tasks, Authority:
· Responsible for engineering design and construction-related aspects of assigned projects.
· Ensure QA/QC guidelines and company standards are met.
· Maintain a full understanding of guidelines and company expectations for quality control and quality assurance.
· Ensure that information necessary for presentation of engineering design meets requirements and is readily available.
· Demonstrate strong planning and time management skills.
· Provide technical guidance to the team and act as a trusted advisor.
· Create a positive and motivating working environment, empowering others with the appropriate latitude to get work done.
· Actively involve and partner with the Project Manager in all aspects of project assignment, including resource management, budget management, tracking schedule, and project communication.
· Stay within the scope of the project and complete work on agreed schedule.
· Communicate with agencies, clients, and sub-consultants to identify project design constraints, solve complicated design issues, and represent our clients’ interests on projects.
· Demonstrate PCD’s values of building long-term relationships by focusing on mutual respect and integrity in all we do.
· Support the growth of PCD by actively seeking out and creating opportunities to bring in new business as well as ensuring continued relationships with current clients.
Qualifications:
· 15+ years of experience.
· Oregon Engineering license required.
· Great problem solver and advocate for clients using an educated approach.
· Produce stamp-quality drawing sets per company standards.
· Demonstrate expertise in hydrology, hydraulics, stormwater management, grading tough sites, and understanding the details that make a project successful.
· Demonstrate effective, open, and honest communication skills.
· Keep teams informed of project-related issues, especially as they pertain to scope, schedule, and budget.
· Display effective writing and verbal communication skills with management, peers, and clients.
· Comfort in managing ambiguity by seeking to understand project goals, scope, deliverables, and expectations of non-routine assignments.
· Proactively manage work to avoid conflict.
