Position Summary
To ensure a clean and workable kitchen, storage areas, dining room area and guest restrooms.
Role Responsibilities:
o Responsible for cleaning, polishing and upkeep of all china, glassware, silverware, pots and pans, kitchen tools & ovens.
o Responsible for maintaining clean and dry floors within all designated work, storage and dining areas.
o Responsible for the cleanliness and upkeep of the main kitchen, dish/pot washing areas, receiving dock, dry storage room, dining room floors, dining room furniture, guest bathrooms, china storage and walk-in-boxes. This also includes kitchen equipment, ventilation hoods, small wares, and small appliances.
o Stock and organize all dry goods, china, glass and silverware.
o Make sure all service items needed for any special function are available, cleaned, polished, in good condition and are ready for that function.
o Provide support for the cooks and fellow stewards when needed.
o Knowledge in chemicals and cleaning agents used in the maintenance of the kitchen.
o Proficient knowledge of various kitchen appliances, i.e. the dishwasher and kitchen tools used in production.
o Must be able to communicate efficiently and effectively to all team members.
Contribute to strive to protect themselves, other team members and guests by working to produce an environment and product that is always as clean and sanitary as possible.
Qualifications:
o Ability to work at a fast, yet controlled pace while cleaning.
o Proficient knowledge of various kitchen appliances and kitchen tools used in production.
o At least 2 years’ experience in a fully operating kitchen of credibility
Ability to:
o Read and execute instructions written in English.
o Speak English fluently.
o Stand, walk and climb flights of steps during a fulltime work shift.
o Clean work habits and strong attention to detail
o Be punctual/on time for work shifts and setting up for cafeteria service.
o Multi-task to plan as well to ensure not being late when maintaining tasks that are essential to operations.
o Learn all aspects of the position for each shift and be able to provide coverage for call outs as seniority dictates.
