Low Voltage Technician
Responsibilities & Skills
Key Responsibilities include working alongside and/or assisting the lead of a crew of
cabling/fiber/telecommunication technicians in the execution of low voltage
infrastructure projects and work orders.
Install, terminate and test low voltage cables and fiber optic cables
Physically install Category 5, 6
Install outlets, pulling cable, fire stopping and pre-termination including
organizing, forming, dressing and labeling cables to industry standards
Terminate, assemble and install 8-pin modular connectors and coaxial
connectors, and light crimp connectors
Remove abandoned or replaced cables
Determine closet and equipment layouts and install closet hardware including
backboards, connecting blocks, racks, patch panels and fiber enclosures, and
balance video equipment
Contribute as a member of a project team, working to mitigate problems and
working to always be an equal team contributor
Maintain and reference industry standards
Submit all required paperwork on time
Adhere to all required project specific as well as company safety requirements
Requirements
Must be a team player with a positive attitude and commitment to excellence
Candidates must be able to successfully pass a drug test, MVR, and criminal
history check and must be eligible for work in the United States
Must be able to travel, Arkansas, Mississippi, Tennessee- will travel with Access
Lead in Company vehicle.
Working Environment
The employee must:
Be on job site on time
Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Must be able to stand, walk, reach and with hands and arms, for up to eight
hours daily.
Must be able to coordinate hands and eyes while using automated tools and
equipment.
Must be able to handle a variety of items, equipment, control knobs, switches,
etc.
Must be able to use one hand for twisting or turning motions while coordinating
the other hand with different activities. Must have average levels of eye/hand/foot
coordination.
Must be able to climb up and down ladders (8 feet routinely) and have worked on
Electric lift (19 Foot)
Must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch and/or crawl in all
environments (basements, crawl spaces, attic/ceilings, etc.).
Regularly exposed to work in non-climate-controlled environments
May be exposed to airborne particles and dirt in outdoor or construction
environments
May be exposed to higher noise levels depending upon work site and tools
