JOB DESCRIPTION

For this full-time position, we are seeking a mature individual with an achieved integration of two divergent sets of experience and skills: an interest in a scholarly approach to depth psychology and culture, as well as specific abilities, skills and experience in event organization and technical support and management. The candidate will have the ability to engage creatively both with individual faculty members and with oversight committees in the development of public educational programs.

The successful applicant will have a BA degree or higher and experience in working as part of a collaborative team in either a non-profit or higher educational environment. The applicant should also have excellent organizational and detail-management skills.

Required competencies include:

Some familiarity or an interest in depth psychology, literature, philosophy, spirituality, music and art

Demonstrated competence in event planning and time management

Ability to accurately budget event costs and estimate revenues

Familiarity with advertising / marketing design and production

Excellent writing and editing skills

Ability to work in partnership with colleagues, work with committees, and coordinate volunteers

Experience with database management

Experience with publicity and community outreach planning

Ability to manage publicity timelines and production, including online and print publicity materials

Excellent organizational skills and a keen eye for detail

Some familiarity with Adobe Suite, (Photoshop InDesign etc.)

Must be able to lift and carry 35 lbs. as tables and chairs may need to be set up for events.

COMPENSATION

Full-time (35 hours/week). Some evening and weekend work required.

Starting salary $35/hour. Generous benefit package including employer-funded retirement plan

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program Planning:

In consultation with Institute committees, Institute staff create conferences, lectures, seminars, and other events representing a Jungian perspective for professional psychotherapists and the interested general public

Oversight of event listings on the Jung Institute website

Explore opportunities to promote the various Institute programs that serve the public

Participate in the preparation of an accurate annual budget of costs and revenues

Advise committee members on best practices for event production and planning

Support the work of committee members

Negotiate venue and vendor contracts in consultation with committee chairs

Collaborate with faculty to coordinate A/V and presentation needs, and to provide students with access to reading materials (this might include training faculty and guest presenters in the use of A/V equipment)

Program Administration:

Arrange for all necessary logistical support of public education events, including transportation, audio-visual, catering, etc.

Collaborate with Training Administrator to ensure completion of all necessary documentation to meet Continuing Medical Education requirements

Assist program attendees in registering, answer telephone inquiries about upcoming events, and support event faculty during events

Attend and oversee weekend events, as necessary

Train and coordinate volunteers

Be the point-person for all questions regarding public programs

Marketing and Publicity:

Plan and produce, in cooperation with committee members and other Institute staff program publicity and advertising

In consultation with the Administrative Director negotiate contracts with vendors and oversee materials production (designers, printers, mailing houses, etc.)

Make use of online publicity and registration sites such as Eventbrite, Mailchimp, and Learning ExpressCE

Maintain social media presence

Database Integrity and Maintenance:

In concert with other Institute staff, insure that all database information is up to date and accurate.
