GENERAL PURPOSE:The Manager of Hospital and Community Development helps establish program goals and develops strategies to increase organ, tissue, and eye donation within the hospitals and communities in our Donation Service Area (DSA). Works directly with Director of Development to achieve the goals of FLDRN. Will have responsibility to work directly with hospital accounts and coordinate community programs within a designated region. Directly supervises development staff. Must be able to work collaboratively with all departments within FLDRN, the tissue banks, transplant centers, and community partners to help further advance the objectives of the program. The goal of this position is to provide the necessary mentorship and direct supervision to help maximixe all aspects of donation in the hospitals and communities we serve.RESPONSIBILITIES:Management of the Hospital & Community Development Program

Assists the Director of Development to implement strategies to increase organ, tissue and eye donation in the hospitals and communities in the service area.

Contributes to the development and implementation of reports which demonstrate the effectivemenss of hospital and community development efforts.

Assists with the monitoring of the Balanced Score Card as it relates to Hospital Development and Community Development goals.

Participates in management team meetings.

Acts as a leader for FLDRN and works in a proactive fashion with all departments.

Oversees the updating and implementation of policy and procedures to standardize processes, maximize donation, and are compliant with CMS standards.

Staff Supervision

Supervises and meets with Hospital & Community Development Specialists (HCDS) on a regular basis to assist them in setting and managing goals for their assigned hospital accounts and surrounding communities.

Reviews the progress of HDCS team members to ensure the department’s accountability standards and customer service needs are being met.

Provides support to HCDS team members and manages staffing coverage

Approves time off and expense reports for the HCDS

Hospital Development Account Management

Responsible in development and implementation of strategies to maximize all aspects of donation at assigned hospitals.

Acts as primary point of contact for assigned hospital accounts.

Ensures that all assigned accounts are up-to-date, including but not limited to profiles, donation policies, key contacts, contracts, data, development activity, goals and action steps.

Identify, develop and support donor champions within assigned hospital accounts.

Develop key contacts who represents hospital leadership (i.e CEO, CNO, CMO, COO) within assigned hospital accounts.

Responds onsite to assist with communications on active referrals/donor case and may also open referrals.

Responsible for tracking data and reporting donation outcomes and trends, as well as conducting death record reviews for assigned hospitals.

Community Development

With direction from the Director of Development, develops a strategic community outreach plan in assigned region, paying special attention

to diverse demographics.

Responsible for fostering relationships with and coordinating outreach and events with community organizations, businesses and other appropriate partners in assigned region to help educate the public about organ donation and increase the region’s donor designation rate.

Meets regularly with County Clerks and DMV offices in assigned

region to provide education and support aimed at increasing donor designations in DMV transactions.

Provides presentations (in-person and vitually) to schools, universities, businesses and organizations in assigned region.

Coordinates public events and donor enrollment drives in assigned region that increase awareness and generate donor enrollments.

Recruits, trains and coordinates volunteers living in assigned region to assist with events and donor drives.

Responds to community requests for public education, tabling events and information materials.

Operational Support

Participate in FLDRN events that supports donor families in the community.

Contributes to Development meetings, staff meetings and others as needed.

Participates in related professional agencies and work groups.

Other duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's degree and 5 years of relevant experience in marketing, sales or public relations required.

Or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Prior supervisory experience and at least 3 years work-related experience in one or more of the following areas: healthcare (direct or indirect patient care) organ, eye or tissue donation; transplantation; healthcare-related non-profit preferred.

Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; working knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, Word, Powerpoint. Ability to problem-solve preferred.

Ability to create and give presentations; event coordination; knowledge of hospital systems; able to multi-task and prioritize work; strategic planning skills preferred.
