Job Description: The Sheet Metal Shop Foreman will oversee the daily operations of the sheet metal shop, ensuring efficient and effective fabrication. This position is Full-Time. This role requires strong leadership skills, extensive experience in sheet metal work, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of a four to five person crew engaged in the fabrication of sheet metal products and equipment.
Interpret specifications, blueprints, submittals, and job orders as needed and convert blueprints and customer specified products to a finished product.
Communicate with customers to provide quotes and take orders.
Operate sheer, plasma table (training can be offered), and other fabrication equipment
Weld light gauge sheet metal.
Order material, equipment, and tools as needed to maintain efficient use of labor resources.
Ensure work sequence is efficient and meets the required schedule and maintain an efficient work flow.
Understand schedules and estimate man-hour requirements for completion of the job.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Determine sequence of fabrication and productions by reading plans and working drawings.
Complete and maintain work paperwork
Account for man hours and material costs.
Work effectively and precisely while contributing to a solid safety culture.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 2 years experience in any type of sheet metal and fiberglass ductwork or installation on commercial/residential projects.
Skills in pre-task planning and scheduling of manpower and material.
Ability to read and understand blueprints.
Good verbal communication skills.
Basic competence in sheet-metal mathematics.
Team-oriented with the ability to work well and communicate with others.
Demonstrates willingness to accept responsibility and leadership roles.
Must be able to measure duct to be fabricated and work skillfully with tools, metals, and machines.
Ability to visualize three-dimensional objects from drawings, sketches, or blueprints.
Must be able to work within precise limits and standards and perform a variety of duties that often change.
Must possess a valid driver's license and clean driving record. As well as reliable transportation
Must supply some small hand tools
Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
OSHA 10 or 30 certification.
High School Diploma or 5 year experience in field
