Description We are offering a short term contract employment opportunity for a Software Engineer in Rochester, New York. This role mainly focuses on the development, design, and maintenance of software systems. The successful candidate will be part of an innovative team that strives to deliver top-quality software solutions.Responsibilities: Develop, test, and maintain software systems to meet client needs Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and interpret user/system requirements into design specifications Document all procedures for software design and development activities Ensure software meets all requirements of quality, security, modifiability, extensibility, etc. Troubleshoot, debug and upgrade existing software Evaluate and identify new technologies for implementation Maintain standards compliance Utilize basic office skills for documentation and communication purposes. Requirements Proficiency in software engineering principles and best practices is necessary Demonstrated experience in programming languages such as Python, Java, or C+

Familiarity with software development methodologies such as Agile or Scrum

Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate effectively with colleagues Good communication skills, both written and verbal, are essential Knowledge of version control systems like Git is expected Experience with database management systems like SQL or MongoDB Basic Office Skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and email communication Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field is preferred Familiarity with test-driven development and continuous integration would be beneficial Knowledge of software debugging and troubleshooting Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines concurrently Willingness to continually learn new programming languages and technologies Understanding of front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, and JavaScript Experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is a plus.
