Growing together.We are searching for the next marketing specialist for our high growth Arizona market. The Senior Marketing Specialist - Arizona will regularly interact with team members locally and regionally. The position will be hands-on supporting key ongoing marketing initiatives.As part of the care delivery arm of Optum, the Senior Marketing Specialist is responsible for marketing support of three ongoing initiatives.First, the position provides planning and logistical support for 100+ events per year including, but not limited to, agent and patient liaison tables in clinics and community centers, Medicare 101 education sessions and doctor talks, agent training sessions, third party health fairs, town halls and activations including community walks. The position will provide on-site logistic support at designated priority events.Second, the position will provide marketing support to the Optum – Arizona growth team including, but not limited to versioning existing collateral to promote specific agents and/or locations, coordinating distribution of Optum collateral and marketing assets to agents, coordinating production of monthly agent newsletter, and updating agent training presentations.Third, this position will be responsible for regular merchandising of assigned clinics ensuring that clinics are sufficiently stocked with marketing collateral and that collateral is displayed consistently across clinics as well as according to set merchandising standards.The position is hybrid (60% in office or field / 40% remote) and based within commuting distance of the Optum office in the northern part of Phoenix, AZ. Travel requirements will typically consist of regularly visiting clinics and attending events and health fairs in within the Phoenix metropolitan area. May also include occasional events and health fairs in Flagstaff, Prescott, Sedona and Tucson. The position will report to the Director of Marketing – Arizona & New Mexico.If you are located in Phoenix, AZ you will have the flexibility to Work from home and the office in this hybrid role as you take on some tough challengesPrimary Responsibilities:
Plan and coordinate annual calendar of 100+ marketing and growth events with audiences ranging from 20-500 people per event
Provide offsite and/or onsite support for all events including shipping, receiving, set-up and tear-down dependent on event requirements
Ensuring sufficient staffing levels at each event including working the event as required
Provide executive-level report outs on events including attendance estimates, leads generated and spend against budget
Partner with the regional and local agent relations team members to support ongoing agent promotional initiatives including events and in-clinic promotion
Assist with developing, planning, and hosting agent training sessions as well as agent networking opportunities
Coordinate the versioning of collateral templates for the agent and assigned Optum location ensuring that agents have consistent access to marketing collateral and materials
Coordinate the regular updating of agent training materials as well as monthly newsletter under the direction of the local internal growth team
Visit assigned clinics on a scheduled basis to ensure lobby marketing meets pre-set standards, resupplying clinics with marketing materials as needed
Cultivate relationships with applicable internal business partners to drive support, understanding and collaboration for events and marketing support
Ensure that marketing activities and materials comply with CMS regulations and UnitedHealth Group standards

5+ years of professional full-time experience in a matrix environment in roles related to marketing, advertising, growth, sales, or event management
Within the 5+ years of general experience, specific experience in at least two of the following:
3+ years of experience planning, supporting, and staffing marketing or sales events in a hands-on, tactical role
3+ years of experience in deadline-driven marketing role in a matrixed environment
3+ years of experience managing multiple priorities and cross functional interactions with teams including but not limited to creative services, compliance, and operations
3+ years of experience prioritization and time management in a high-volume templated work environment
2+ years of experience in executing ROI focused marketing initiatives
2+ years of experience as a marketing coordinator, specialist, or manager
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous advertising, marketing, sales, growth or event experience in a health care or insurance setting
Experience working directly with agents, brokers, healthcare event organizers and clinic staff
Experience with executing B2B, B2C and B2B2C marketing tactics
