Accounts Payable Specialist
Description Job Description:We are currently seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Specialist to join our team in Columbia, SC. The ideal candidate should have at least 3 years of experience managing accounts payable in a fast-paced, high volume environment. The main responsibility of this role is to process all invoices received for our organization and ensure that vendor payment queries are answered on time.Responsibilities:
Ensure accurate and timely processing of invoices and prepare check runs.
Maintain accurate vendor files, reconcile vendor statements, and respond to any vendor inquiries.
Ensure that all checks are mailed or distributed correctly.
Review and verify invoices and check requests.
Audit and process credit card bills.
Match invoices to checks, obtain all signatures for checks, and distribute checks accordingly.
Maintain and update financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and yearly financial reports.
Resolve purchase order, contract, invoice, or payment discrepancies.
Ensure timely payment of invoices.
Assist with month-end closing procedures and audits as needed.
Requirements
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an Accounts Payable role.
Strong understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles.
High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
Proficient in data entry and management.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
Experience with accounting software, QuickBooks preferred.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational and planning skills.
Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
