Welder

Welders, also known as brazers, use heavy machinery to join, repair, or cut metal parts and products. Their job duties include:

Preparing: Reading blueprints, sketches, and specifications, and calculating and measuring dimensions of parts

Inspecting: Checking structures or materials to be welded

Welding: Using hand-held or remotely controlled equipment to melt metal into shape and weld materials according to specifications

Adjusting: Monitoring the welding process and adjusting heat as needed

Finishing: Cutting metal into the appropriate shape and smoothing molten metal to remove creases

Maintaining: Keeping equipment and machinery in good condition
