Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Specialist in the manufacturing industry, located in Phoenix, Arizona. The role involves processing invoices, managing approval processes, and maintaining accurate records while liaising with various departments and vendors to resolve any invoice-related discrepancies.Responsibilities: Handle the process of entering and routing invoices for approval to ensure timely payments Foster effective collaboration with team members to ensure a smooth and efficient workflow Use analytical skills to identify the root cause of discrepancies and provide effective solutions Manage and maintain accurate records in accordance with company procedures and regulatory requirements Communicate effectively with various departments and vendors to resolve invoice-related queries Utilize accounting software systems like Great Plains (GPAC), IBM AS/400, JD Edwards EnterpriseOne for efficient processing and data entry Ensure the accounts payable functions are carried out accurately and efficiently Monitor customer accounts and take appropriate actions when necessary Exhibit adaptability to new technologies and rapidly changing work environments Exhibit proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other basic computer systems and software applications. Requirements Proficiency in Accounting Software Systems Experience with Great Plains (GPAC) Familiarity with IBM AS/400 Knowledge of JD Edwards EnterpriseOne Ability to perform various Accounting Functions Expertise in Accounts Payable (AP) Experience in Check Processing Proficient in Data Entry Ability to identify and resolve Discrepancies Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel Knowledge of manufacturing industry standards and practices Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Attention to detail and high level of accuracy Ability to work independently and in a team Good organizational and time management skills Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred Relevant certification such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA) is a plus.
