Curtain Workroom Tailor/Seamstress

Full Job Description:

Custom Curtain and Upholstery Workroom located in New York City is looking for a detail-oriented full-time seamstress with experience in window treatment fabrication.

Skills:

Sewing experience is a must and precision and quality is expected.

Must have experience with industrial machines.

Knowledge of production procedures is preferred but not required. Must be willing and able to learn.

Experience in a curtain workroom is preferred.

Must know how to measure, read a tape measure and follow directions.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

Sewing all aspects of curtains, Roman shades, valances, cornices, wall upholstery prep and soft goods (i.e., bedding, pillows, etc.)

Hand sewing

Measuring and cutting fabric to precise specifications

Inspecting fabrics

Quality checking finished products

Work as a team player to get the project completed

Help maintain a clean and safe work environment

Must have a positive and pleasant attitude

Workdays are Monday to Friday with occasional overtime

We are a drug and smoke free workplace

Competitive pay based on experience
