Position Title: Event Service Associate - Lower Campus

Position Summary: The Event Service Associate is a key member of the Lower Campus team, responsible for ensuring a welcoming and enjoyable experience for all guests at Anaina Hou Community Park. This role involves direct interaction with the public, providing information about our activities and services, and handling bar and concession sales. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in a high-volume restaurant or event catering environment, possess excellent organizational skills, and be capable of managing multiple priorities in a dynamic setting. Flexibility in scheduling and the physical ability to perform various tasks are essential for success in this role.

Reports to: Lower Campus Manager

Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests with a positive attitude and share spirit of aloha

Provide exceptional customer service by addressing guest inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally

Remain knowledgeable about Anaina Hou activities and services

Manage the setup, operation, and tear-down of bar and concession areas

Ensure accurate and efficient handling of cash and credit transactions

Maintain inventory levels, restock supplies as needed, and report any shortages or discrepancies

Adhere to all health and safety regulations, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of the bar and concession areas

Coordinate with the event team to ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available and set up correctly

Assist with arranging seating, decorations, and other event-specific requirements

Oversee the dismantling and packing of equipment and materials after the event, ensuring everything is returned to its proper place

Efficiently manage the check-in process for event attendees, ensuring a smooth and organized flow

Verify tickets, distribute wristbands or other entry materials, and provide guests with event information

Foster a positive work environment by supporting and collaborating with colleagues

Communicate effectively with vendors and volunteers to ensure event success

Address and resolve any issues that arise during events in a calm and efficient manner

Use problem-solving skills to quickly find solutions that benefit both guests and the organization

Ensure all operations comply with local, state, and federal regulations, particularly those related to food and beverage service

Adhere to Anaina Hou Community Park policies and procedures

Skills and Qualifications:

5+ years' experience, preferably in a high-volume restaurant or events catering environment

Strong communication skills and a passion for customer service

Ability to effectively work and interact with staff, vendors, volunteers, and the general public

Must be detail-oriented, resourceful, and have excellent follow-through skills

Highly organized with the ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure

Team player with the ability to resolve problems in a constructive manner

Must carry a liquor commission blue card and food handlers certificate

Physical Demands:

Ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs, including effectively maneuvering around facilities

Repetitive bending, prolonged standing, twisting, stooping, squatting, and climbing

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 4 hours) without a break

Miscellaneous:

Flexibility in work schedule is required, including the ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as operational needs may require

All staff must successfully complete a background check to be eligible for employment

Ability to Commute: Kilauea, HI 96754 (Required)
