Job Description: Material HandlerOperate dual hoist and single hoist cranes to service the plate burning department and assist in all packaging and handling functions.
Locate plate stock as allocated on work order
Verify material meets order requirements
Do AS IS orders as required
Operate crane using a Magnets, sheet lifter or chains, plate hooks
Package plate product as per work order specification and packaging instruction
Print and attach finished good tags
Make all necessary entries in the AS400 system and work orders
Fill out and complete all necessary documents and forms
Loads and unloads trucks using crane or fork lift
Performs shipping and receiving inspections
Stacks plate in safe manner in designated storage areas
Perform daily crane and forklift inspections
Job Requirements: Material Handler
Education - Able to sufficiently read and write English to perform all functions of the job duties High School diploma or equivalent and also be physically capable to perform the same.
Experience - Minimum 1year experience of operating overhead cranes in a production environment.
Skills - Control operations of all crane movements safely and efficiently.
Performing routine inspections on equipment and determining when and what kind of maintenance is needed.
Handling and Moving Objects - Using hands, crane controls in handling, positioning and moving materials, and manipulating lifts into position.
Certificates - Crane Operator and Certified Forklift Operator
Ability to use: Magnets, sheet lifters, plate hooks, vacuum lifts, scrappers, cutting torches, micrometer, calipers, tape measure, banding tools, hammers, grinders, jib crane, AS400, band cutters
