Billing Clerk

Description Robert Half is seeking a skilled and dedicated Billing Clerk to join our finance team. This role offers an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to manage our billing processes and contribute to the smooth operation of our financial operations.Position Overview:The Billing Clerk will be responsible for performing various billing tasks including invoicing, record-keeping, and resolving billing discrepancies. The ideal candidate will have a solid understanding of billing procedures, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.Key Responsibilities:

Prepare and issue accurate invoices to clients based on service agreements and contracts.

Verify billing data and resolve any discrepancies or issues.

Process and track customer payments and apply them to the appropriate accounts.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date billing records and files.

Address and resolve billing inquiries and disputes from clients.

Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on overdue invoices.

Assist in generating billing reports and financial statements as required.

Support month-end and year-end closing activities related to billing.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate and timely billing processes.

Requirements

Proven experience as a Billing Clerk or in a similar role within finance or accounting.

Strong knowledge of billing procedures and best practices.

Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office Suite (Excel, Word).

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Ability to handle multiple tasks and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Strong communication skills and a problem-solving attitude.

Experience with [specific accounting software, if applicable] is a plus.

High school diploma or equivalent; an Associate’s degree in Accounting or related field is preferred.
