Prepares for video cases by having all necessary working equipment. Performs instrument room technician duties as necessary.
Prepares and sets up case carts. Uses aseptic technique with sterile supplies.
Opens sterile supplies utilizing sterile technique. Sterilizes appropriate camera scope and cables in the Steris based on physician preferences.
Serves as backup for Specialist - Central Supply maintains and organizes unit supplies and equipment. Assesses the criticality of stock and back-order items and reports them to charge person as necessary.
Assists nursing staff in providing patient care.
Performs OR room turnover in an efficient manner.
Flash sterilization of instruments/trays done with in the recommended standards.
Establishes and accurately maintains documentation database(s) coding practice and records on an ongoing basis for the department.
Active member of committee(s) or collaborative teams as required by duties.
Demonstrates the ability to adapt to changing OR environment and thorough understanding of standard precautions in maintaining OR cleanliness.
Promotes professional development .
Assumes responsibility for personal professional development and continuing education by attending departmental meetings hospital events and classes etc.
Participates in development activities and contributes ideas to facilitate improving patient care unit operations and organization processes and systems in support of individual unit/department.
Collaborates to develop educational objectives goals and action plans for the department and/or peers within area of expertise.
Demonstrates the ability to effectively work with various end users to effectively provide the needed information and training.
General and Customer Service
Provides excellent customer service to internal and external customers making a positive first impression.
Responsible for inventory ordering and distribution of technical and office supplies.
Responds to telephone inquiries quickly appropriately and in a manner that addresses the needs of the caller.
