Follow the link below to explore what we have to offer below.Commonspirit Total Rewards (https://csh-ss.runmytests.com/benefits)ResponsibilitiesThe Grant Officer functions as a member of the development team with the goal of securing grant funding from private and public sources to maintain and advance the mission of Dignity Health - St. Rose Dominican. This position will be responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit and coordinate grants. This position will report to the Grant Manager.
Conduct grant funding research, including Federal and State programs, private foundations, and civic organizations.
Perform background and issue research as well as develop a knowledge of institutional history and understanding of key service lines and community outreach/benefit programs.
Attend grantor/community meetings and develop relationships with private foundation representatives to learn about funding opportunities.
Work with program/project personnel to coordinate, create, and edit program narratives, needs statements, budgets, timelines, and other components of a grant application; develop cases for support/proposals for the Director of Major Gifts.
Responsible for the preparation and submittal of grant proposals.
Attend grant and grant review committee meetings, as needed.
Attend program audits, both service and financial.
Submit grant contracts for internal legal review and execute upon approval.
Receive grant activity reports and requests for funds from program/project personnel for inclusion in grant files and to ensure contract compliance.
Provide technical assistance to program managers.
Maintain and update an electronic tracking system to include grants submitted, status, funding amount, and reporting schedules.
Maintain accurate and comprehensive grant files (submissions, contracts, reports, requests for funds, and payments).
Create an annual program plan to include a submission schedule to be incorporated in the Foundation's annual operating plan.
Reconcile grant payments and send to the Foundation Operations Director and designated Hospital Financial staff.
Work with grant program managers and designated Hospital Financial staff to ensure an accurate and timely A-133 report submission to Dignity Health corporate.
Assist with other fundraising activities as requested.
QualificationsMinimum:
Two to four years’ experience in proposal and/or grant writing.
Bachelor’s Degree
Able to work independently with excellent follow-up. Able to handle multiple projects concurrently that involves organizing and prioritizing work assignments to meet deadlines.
Preferred:
Previous experience in writing and submitting state and federal grants preferred.
