We need YOU!Where the chemistry happens…We are seeking a motivated professional like you to provide detailed engineering expertise in support of site capital projects and operational reliability. In this role, you will collaborate closely with maintenance, EHS, site management and R&D teams to ensure project objectives are met. You will be responsible for managing assigned capital projects, evaluating and recommending innovative technical solutions in order to improve the safe and reliable operation of the site, and contributing to the continual improvement of site engineering processes.This is an excellent opportunity for you to demonstrate your cross-disciplinary knowledge of civil, piping, mechanical, and electrical/instrumentation disciplines while working within a structured safety, purchasing and engineering framework. Leading project teams to effectively achieve project objectives. Tapping into your strong analytical skills, you will serve as a technical resource for Maintenance and R&D teams, developing innovative and practical solutions to various operational and process problems.
Promoting a safe working environment for project execution. Will adhere to current corporate and site requirements for equipment/materials specifications and vendor preferences.
Engaging across the organization to develop and maintain partnerships with other business colleagues and service groups such as Procurement, Engineering, R&D, Maintenance and executing projects from initial scoping and funding, through detailed engineering and procurement, startup and commissioning, and then final documentation and closure. Additionally, you will participate and contribute on engineering discipline teams via ad hoc assignments with other Site and North America engineers to review, update, and develop project management procedures, guidelines, standards, and practices.
Coordinating process and designing engineering and resources (from the site or corporate groups or outside engineering vendors) to prepare engineering design deliverables and to procure equipment, fabricated materials, and services.
Working with Procurement and complying with applicable guidelines, you will perform procurement activities as required, including preparing specifications, issuing requisitions, evaluating bids, and dealing with vendors.
Relying on your project engineering and project management experience, you will monitor and support construction activities to ensure that projects are completed according to the design deliverables, quality standards, and site requirements, and that pre-startup safety reviews are conducted. You will also follow up to ensure that stakeholders achieve a successful project startup, and that any project-related action items are completed.
Promoting identification of lessons learned from completed projects to improve work practices.
If you
Have a Bachelor’s Degree and engineering experience in the fields of maintenance, instrumentation, reliability, and project management,
Are firmly committed to compliance and safety as you comply with all environmental, safety, and health requirements.
Have strong communication and interpersonal skills, organizational skills and extensive knowledge of industry-relevant design codes and standards
Have strong computer skills since you will maintain SAP project data entries, monitor project progress through scheduling and other tools, perform project status reporting, and control spending through appropriate tracking, forecasting, and adjustments.
Are used to working with Procurement and complying with applicable guidelines.
Have project engineering and project management experience, as you will be monitoring construction activities to ensure that projects are completed according to the design deliverables, quality standards, and site requirements.
Have strong organizational skills as you close projects per guidelines, and ensure proper documentation of files, records, databases, and drawings to meet regulatory and BASF requirements.
