Powell’s Books, the largest independent bookseller in the world, is seeking a talented Facilities Specialist with carpentry experience to enhance the ambiance of our beloved stores. In this dynamic role, you will focus on carpentry and fixture build tasks while contributing to the overall maintenance and improvement of our properties.

Your responsibilities will include executing and coordinating cleaning, maintenance, repairs, and enhancements, with a particular emphasis on the fixtures and finishes that make our stores iconic. You’ll also have the opportunity to apply your skills in other relevant building areas.

With significant decision-making authority within your scope, you will have the autonomy to address challenges as they arise, ensuring our facilities remain inviting and functional. While operating within established guidelines, any expenditure exceeding a defined threshold will require prior approval from the Facilities Operations Manager. Schedule is Tuesday-Saturday, 9am-5pm, for a 37.5-hour work-week.

Compensation is $18.75 per hour or more, depending on experience.
