For 25+ years, the Vietnamese American Community Center of the East Bay (VACCEB) in Oakland, CA has been a refuge and resource for low-income and underrepresented refugee/immigrant communities. Our mission is to provide supportive services to refugees and immigrants while they are trying to become self-sufficient and integrate themselves into all aspects of American society. VACCEB provides a variety of supportive services, including food security, senior programs, information and assistance, education classes (ESL, Digital Literacy, Citizenship), health and wellness, advocacy work, and employment placement assistance. We are currently looking to hire a Program Coordinator to support our many programs, who is hard-working and committed to serving vulnerable communities.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Provide program support to the Program Manager, as assigned, to assure program services are delivered and close-out reports are submitted on time to funders.

Provide support to VACCEB’s Information and Assistance Program.

Provide support to the San Leandro Senior Community Center. Provide leadership for Program Assistants and maintain quality of meal bags assembled and cleanliness of staging area.

Perform education and outreach activities in connection with current contracts.

Register and perform in-take on new clients for existing programs and activities.

Perform client data entry in client management system (Salesforce).

Qualifications:

Bi-lingual ability in Chinese (Cantonese)

Able to work in-person, 100% FTE

Minimum of 3-5 years of work experience.

Experience working in a non-profit or community-based organization serving vulnerable and diverse communities (refugees and immigrants)

Demonstrated ability to provide both administrative and ‘hands on’ support.

Ability to work directly and indirectly with underserved communities; especially seniors.

Experience working under a written contract (public or private); especially as it pertains to scope of work, targets and goal attainment.

Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively in writing and orally.

Ability to work on narrative reports and data driven forms (budgets, statistics).

Demonstrated experience and skills in program service coordination and successfully working within assigned deadlines and limited resources.

Ability to work for sustained periods of time in a dynamic environment calmly.

Ability to work productively without direct supervision.

Must have a CA Driver’s license.
