Surf School Assistant Manager

Stoke Drift is a surf school on Waikiki Beach in front of the Waikiki Shore Hotel. We pride ourselves on delivering top-notch customer experiences.

We’re hiring two assistant managers: one full-time, and one part-time. The full-time assistant manager will be the focus of our evaluations. The part-time manager’s schedule will hopefully complement the full-time position.

JOB DESCRIPTION

Full-Time Schedule: You’ll be working 5 days a week, from 8am-5pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. You can pick the 5-days you work. We’d prefer you work either Saturday or Sunday, but ultimately we’re trying to match schedules with a part-time manager.

Part-Time Schedule: You’ll be working 2-3 days a week, from 8am-5pm, with a 1-hour lunch break. We’re looking for the two days to be complementary to the full-time manager. We’d likely prefer at least 1 weekend day.

The job will involve a training period.

After sufficient training you’ll be managing the following:

Opening and closing our retail space.

Selling and booking in-person surf lessons.

Resolving customer service issues.

Doing surf lessons.

Evaluating and training our surf instructors.

Supporting and monitoring our surf photographers.

Organizing our schedules.

Managing special events.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (Required)

Leadership Experience. Must have had leadership experience in a professional setting (non-work related experience may qualify). We’d prefer leaders who understand the duality between working hard and delegating.

Impeccable Employment Record. In order to lead our team, you yourself must have a record of being a great employee. You cannot hold our team accountable if you’re not accountable.

Surf OR Surf Instructor Experience. You should be a proficient surfer or experienced surf instructor. Our company takes lesson quality and consistency to a new level.

PREFERED QUALIFICATIONS (Not Required)

Technology Proficient. Your responsibilities will require you to use several scheduling platforms, adobe products, Google Office, and more.

Sales Experience. We would prefer someone who either has sales experience or can learn to sell. The assistant manager will lead in-person and phone sales.

COMPENSATION

$24-$30/hour + Tips & Bonuses
