Crane Operator / Heavy Equipment

Come join our Yard Crew at Stonecast Products! The Crane Operator works with the Yard Crew to perform a variety of duties related to moving concrete products out of the plants and preparing for shipping. We would consider someone with other heavy equipment operation skills, such as skid loader, front end loader, etc., with aptitude to learn crane operation.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES - General understanding of English and Spanish needed:

Operates crane responsibly, safely, and efficiently, following all protocols.

Communicates to the ground crew in a team-oriented manner to provide direction on the flow and movement of concrete products around the yard.

Moves product from the plants to the acid wash area, yard, or the wrap area.

Helps prepare pieces for shipment by removing product from the yard storage area, transporting to a trailer, and loading it on a trailer for final shipment.

Operates front end loader and fork truck to transport various materials.

Organizes and cleans yard and removes debris to keep a safe environment for all employees and clients.

Performs start up inspection at beginning of each shift to ensure equipment is safe to operate.

Assembles concrete products on pallets and wraps securely and appropriately for delivery to job site.

Reports any equipment malfunction or problems to a supervisor.

Follows instructions, guidelines, and procedures timely and accurately.

Continually and actively seeks to learn new skills and progress in level of responsibility.

Looks for ways to improve processes, reduce errors and increase efficiencies.

Performs yard clean-up/housekeeping including putting away tools, picking up debris and cleaning cluttered areas.

Adheres to all safety standards and policies.

Performs crane rigging and signaling for drivers as needed

Other duties as assigned.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Proven experience operating a crane or other heavy equipment with aptitude to learn crane operation.

General understanding of other yard vehicles and equipment; proven experience, forklift, skid loader, semi yard trailer

General understanding of concrete preferred

Ability to follow direction from supervision

Ability to work in inclement weather conditions

Good communication and teamwork skills

Strong work ethic

Ability to work overtime as needed
