Mechanic (Automotive & Heavy Equipment) - Operation & Maintenance Tech

The Metropolitan Water District needs an Operation & Maintenance Tech II (Fleet) with recent experience in automotive (light/medium) or heavy equipment maintenance.

Location: Lake Mathews, Riverside County, CA

· This is a temporary position for up to 6 months.

· Schedule: 4/10 Mon-Thurs (10hrs daily/ 4 days per week). This is subject to change.

Pay: $33/hour to $37/hour

Duties include:

· Inspection, diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of automotive light/medium or heavy equipment, including pumps, compressors, generators, and miscellaneous equipment.

· Maintenance and repair of heavy construction equipment, this may include gas, diesel, and hybrid vehicles such as cars, sports utility vehicles, pickups and trucks of varied sizes and graders, bulldozers, tractor trailers, tankers, cranes, and other heavy equipment.

· Maintaining and repairing the company fleet.

Job Requirements:

· Skills necessary include mechanical, hydraulics, electrical, computer/electronics, and handheld diagnostic systems.

High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Class A Valid Driver’s License (Required)

Wear a cartridge respirator.

Work in confined spaces.
