Diesel Truck Mechanic(s) and Manager Opportunity

We are a 35-year family owned and operated facility with an immediate opening for a career-oriented diesel truck mechanic with a Shop Manager opportunity. Responsibilities are diagnosing and repairing diesel engines, performing preventative maintenance, and troubleshooting engine problems. Position doesn't require much interface with the public as the great majority of our clients are Fleet and repeat.

Tasks include:

· Inspects and repairs vehicles with diesel engines

· Provide mechanical maintenance, including repairs and lubrication.

· Handles routine repairs, including oil and tire changes

· Interprets diagnostic test results accurately

· Repair and maintain air brakes, vehicle air conditioning, and hydraulics.

· Repair and maintain truck electrical systems, i.e., 12v &/or 24 vdc.

· Report equipment breakdowns to generate work orders.

· Prepare work orders

· Keeps the equipment being operated, clean and safe.

· Writes detailed inspection reports and repair plans

· Collaborates with other diesel mechanics

· Completes test drives to make sure the vehicle runs correctly

· Uses power, machine, and hand tools safely

· Follows all motor vehicle repair shop regulations and standards

Working Environment:

Able to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb to heights of at least 50 feet frequently.

Able to speak clearly and listen attentively

Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs.

Wage based on experience.
