Summary of Position:
This high profile position maintains the efficient operation of the Cher-Ae Heights casino slot department, leads, directs, trains and motivates Cher-Ae Heights slot employees to attain a high level of efficiency and cooperation. Ensures that the slot department operates at all times within the company, state, and federal regulations. Recognizes and resolves customer and employee complaints. When delegated, this position is responsible for the overall efficiency and operation of the entire Cher-Ae Heights casino complex.
Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for ensuring our high standards of excellence in customer service in all areas dealing with our guests. The Slot Director must monitor guest attitudes through direct contact with the guests on the floor, telephone and through the results of responses from mailings. This position is also responsible for problem resolution with all guests, vendors and employees of the slot department. The Slot Director must help create and maintain a positive, fun and professional environment at all times for our guests and employees.
Using positive discipline, proper coaching methods and encouragement, the Slot Director assists employees in their efforts to satisfy and follow up on customer requests, service and issues. Coordinates and communicates schedules and promotions to slot employees. Ensures that all assigned tasks of the slot employees are being carried out. Promotes a safe and clean environment for guests and employees. Informs General Manager of problems and schedule changes that affect the operation of the casino.
Ensures that all relevant gaming regulations and company policies are followed at all times. Ensures proper maintenance of slot machines and gaming equipment. Schedules and performs maintenance of slot machines. Plans and executes, with the General Manager, slot placement and changes to the layout and denomination of slot games. Reviews statistical reports for accuracy and feasibility and investigates any discrepancies.
Informs the Tribal Gaming Commission of violations or changes in policies or procedures. Informs and updates the General Manager, either verbally or in writing, of concerns and operations problems. Promotes good communication with employees and guests.
When assigned by the General Manager, the Slot Director acts as the Manager on Duty and assumes responsibility and accountability for the entire casino. This position is responsible for the security of the facility, patrons and employees.
Oversees the Slot System and Progressive Systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current California Driver’s license.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen.
Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.
Excellent math skills.
PREFFERED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior slot experience.
Must be 21 years of age or older.
Electronics education or experience.
High level of computer literacy.
Qualifications:
Should have good customer relation skills.
Must qualify for Tribal Gaming License.
Ability to follow directions, written or oral.
Indian Preference.
Must pass pre-employment drug screen test.
Must be age 21 and older.
Must have a working knowledge of and adhere to all applicable gaming regulations and company policies.
Must adhere to the highest standards for professional attire.
Must maintain a friendly, professional attitude no matter what the circumstance.
Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
Gaming and business math skills.
Knowledge of gaming equipment.
Minimum of 5 years current casino experience in the slot department, six months in a supervisory capacity.
Must have the ability to learn and adapt quickly, and to keep abreast of new customer service and gaming trends at all times.
Must have a good working knowledge of computers and slot machine repair.
Must be able to represent the casino positively, enthusiastically and politely to our customers and provide a pleasant work atmosphere for employees.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
Working environment consists of various levels of smoke, noise, light, heat, and cold.
Must be able to lift 50 pounds, reach, and bend. Must be able to stand, sit and/or walk for periods of six or more hours.
Must be able to respond to visual and aural cues.
Must be able to operate in physically and mentally stressful conditions.
Must have the manual dexterity to use a computer keyboard, micros touch screen and phone.

All candidates must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Tribal Gaming License once employed.
