FULL-TIME GROWER/LABOR MANAGER

Local Plant Nursery is looking to fill a Full-Time position, averaging 40-45 hours per week, with 45+ hours/week during peak season (from February-June 1st). Pay for this position depends on the individual’s skill level, knowledge and experience. There is a 90-day probationary period.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

Grower is responsible for the overall growing and maintenance of plants to ensure proper plant growth and health

Ability to inspect plants, identify deficiencies, disease and pest infestations and provide treatment suggestions

Understands and follows protocols to ensure successful plant growth and health

Have Knowledge on Plant Irrigation

Monitors inventory and space requirements

Oversees short and long term department equipment, tools and supply needs

Works closely with other Managers to maintain task quality and efficiency

Works with Sales and Shipping Department to produce inventory pull sheets daily

Requirements & Qualifications

2-3 years of growing experience

Ability to speak, read and write English (Bilingual preferred in Spanish & English)

Excellent communication

Ability to problem-solve and interact with all levels of management, team leaders & laborers.

Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously

Ability to lead a team in a proficient and timely manner

Ability to work independently

Experience

Experience in growing and finishing a variety of plant products

Work Environment

The work environment for this position is outdoors, in full sun exposure and/or in a warehouse/greenhouse area

Candidate should expect to work through inclement weather conditions

Candidate will be required to work extended hours, weekends and holidays as needed
