Job Summary:
The Bakery Clerk Supervisor is responsible for overseeing store and employee management,
monthly pastry specials, training bakery clerk employees, ensuring adherence to health and
safety standards, and delivering exceptional customer service.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Supervise and coordinate the activities of bakery clerks and other staff members;
Handle scheduling and timekeeping for bakery staff;
Train and mentor bakery clerks in baking techniques, customer service, and department
procedures;
Planning and scheduling bakery operations to meet production targets and customer demands;
Create production schedules, coordinate deliveries, and manage and order bakery supplies; and
Implement promotional activities and displays to drive sales;
Ensure strict adherence to health, safety, and sanitation regulations, including local health
department guidelines and company policies;
Monitor and maintain temperature controls for refrigeration units, and ovens to ensure food
safety and quality;
Implement and enforce hygiene protocols for all bakery staff, including proper handwashing,
uniform standards, and personal protective equipment (PPE);
Conduct regular inspections, and training staff on proper food handling practices;
Assist customers with placing custom orders for special occasions, such as birthdays, weddings,
and other events;
Suggest additional bakery items or related products to customers;
Educate customers on the bakery's unique offerings, specialty items, and seasonal products to
enhance their shopping experience and loyalty; and
Collect feedback from customers regarding their experience, preferences, and suggestions for
improvement.
Qualifications and Requirements:
All applicants are required to have current SERVSAFE Certification, Alcohol Handers Card, and
Manager ServeSafe. Previous management experience is preferred for this position. Prior experience
with pastries and bakery trends is preferred.
