The Haight Ashbury Food Program (HAFP) is a food-focused nonprofit organization that plays an important role in our local, sustainable food system. Our mission is to provide sustenance to those in need in our neighborhood. We provide free food every Saturday at our pantry located in San Francisco's Haight Ashbury neighborhood.

We are looking for a part-time Executive Director to manage the organization. This individual will manage one part-time staff, partner with local community, and participate with our Board of Directors.

HAFP is a small organization; our pantry is open only one day weekly. This is a part time role requiring approximately 20 hours of service per week, most of which can be done remotely.

Key Qualifications

Experience in food or human services-related organizations is desirable.

Direct experience with programmatic, operational and external relations functions.

Proven record with fundraising for a nonprofit.

Excellent interpersonal skills (both verbal and written).

Experience in managing and supporting staff, human resources, and finance.

Experience in working directly with volunteers.

Responsibilities

Lead corporate volunteer activities, and related fundraising.

Assist with grant writing and individual gift cultivation.

Maintain organization systems and processes (finance, HR, and program).

Manage small program site operating staff.

Serve as key spokesperson with public sector, schools, and community associations.

Manage annual newsletter.

Maintain fiscal integrity & fiscal management and reporting.

Manage insurance and compliance with government filings.

Handle purchasing.

Nurture a positive, open, and collaborative relationship with the Board.

Service Area

We serve San Francisco residents in need from our location on Waller Street in the Haight Ashbury neighborhood.

Reporting

Executive Director reports to the Board of Directors through the Board representative.

Staff

Direct reports to ED: Pantry Program Manager and Bookkeeper

Schedule:

Self-determined, flexible schedule throughout the week.

Onsite one Saturday each month for Pantry distribution and volunteer relations.
