Worship Leader (Part-Time)

Worship Leader Job Summary

Riverstone is seeking a passionate and dedicated worship leader to join our team. The worship leader plans and leads our gathering in consultation with our pastor and provides leadership in the worship service prior to and following the message. The worship leader will ensure that our worship is God-glorifying, theologically accurate, and allows our congregation to proclaim and be reminded of biblical truth.

Hours: Approximately 10 hours per week

Ideal Candidate

This is a great position for somebody looking for part time work to coincide with a class schedule or to supplement other full/part-time income. This person should desire to be part of growing a church for the purpose of proclaiming God’s Word to lead people to Jesus.

Worship Leader Duties and Responsibilities

Plan and lead weekly worship/special events (Good Friday, Christmas, etc.)

Select appropriate music and scripture for each service

Lead the congregation in worship through song, prayer, and Scripture

Be part of the church family when possible through Bible studies, small groups, and outreach

Work with church staff, leaders, and volunteers to ensure that all services are properly planned and executed

Coordinate rehearsals as needed

Prepare ProPresenter materials for displaying lyrics during worship

Worship Leader Requirements and Qualifications

Personal, growing relationship with Jesus

Proficiency with musical instrument(s) such as piano and/or guitar

Knowledge of different styles of music, such as traditional and contemporary

Ability to work collaboratively with other team members

Ability to lead and engage a congregation in worship

A passion for worship and spiritual growth personally and corporately

About Riverstone

We are a small non-denominational church meeting in the lunch room of Garrod Hydraulics. In this unique setting, we are “simple yet sincere” in our Sunday gatherings. We are not limited to one style of music—we regularly include hymns, new songs, and contemporary Christian worship music from the past few decades.

Riverstone’s Goal for this Position

Currently our pastor leads worship as he is able. We are seeking a Christian musician to alleviate the burden on him and provide stronger, more meaningful worship through song in preparation for and response to the proclamation of God’s Word. As a young church, we believe this is an important next step in fulfilling our mission of loving people, introducing them to Jesus, and helping them know Him better.
