Provides information to patients so they may fully utilize and benefit from the clinic services. Conveys a positive image of SJRHC. Proficient in OA I,II, & III duties so that they can develop OA who are at a lower level on the careerladder. Responsible for the supervision of other OA's within the department.

Greets patients in a polite, prompt, helpful manner and provides any necessary instructions/directions. Informs appropriate department of patient's arrival.

Answers phone in pleasant manner and routes calls, takes messages, responds to questions and deals with patient needs expeditiously.

Schedules follow-up appointments, and contacts no-show and canceled appointments to reschedule to ensure that no patients is lost to follow-up.

Verifies and updates patient information at each encounter with patient.

Collects copays, bad debts, and prepays as specified in the system at time of patient check-in. Issues receipts.

Obtains patient forms, consents, signatures as needed to keep patient's records up to date.

Collects and enters patient's insurance information into database.

Obtains referral information if necessary for patient's appointment. Ensuring proper authorizations are obtained before patient is seen in the office.

Assembles patient's charts for the next day visits, ensuring records from other offices have been received and scanned into patient's chart.

Processes medical records request from offices and other entities.

Responsible for obtaining approvals through patient's insurance company for in/out of office procedures and surgeries.

Handles all workers compensation and FMLA authorizations, eligibility for patient appointments.

Responsible for collecting any co-insurance, deductibles, and cash payments for surgery/office procedures before services are rendered.

Schedules surgeries, outpatient appointments and admissions per providers requests.

Maintains established par levels and places orders for supplies needed for office needs.

Supervises members of the clerical staff on daily activities and assignments. Serving as a "team lead".

Assists with training and supervision of staff, helping them develop performance goals and objectives.
