Part-time – 25- 28 hours per week

(Some weekends)

Reports To: Niche Market Manager

Position Summary:

Meals on Wheels of Boulder is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Niche Market Associate to join our team. The ideal candidate will have some kitchen experience to help prepare and keep our grab-and-go food section in addition to serving as an associate in running this small convenience store.

Key Responsibilities:

Food Preparation:

- Aid in the preparation and packaging of grab-and-go items, including sandwiches, salads, and other ready-to-eat foods.

- Ensure all food items are prepared according to health and safety standards.

- Keep a clean and organized work area in compliance with food safety regulations.

Inventory Assistance:

- Monitor stock levels of grab-and-go items and ingredients

Monitor and stock general market inventory

- Aid in ordering and restocking supplies as needed

- Keep track of end dates and ensure that outdated products are removed promptly.

- Customer Service:

- Provide friendly and efficient service to customers.

- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues related to grab-and-go items.

- Aid customers in finding products and provide recommendations.

Store Maintenance:

- Help keep the cleanliness and organization of the store.

- Aid with stocking shelves, organizing displays, and performing general cleaning duties.

- Support the team in keeping a welcoming and inviting store environment.

In-store Duties:

Operate the cash register and process customer payments.

Balance the cash register and report any discrepancies.

Maintain a supportive, friendly atmosphere for our volunteers working in the store.

Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with the Niche Market team members to ensure smooth operations.

- Take part in team meetings and contribute to a positive team culture.

- Provide support in all areas of the market as needed.

Qualifications and Skills

- Prior cooking or food preparation experience preferred.

- Experience in a retail or convenience store setting

- Basic cooking and food handling skills.

- Earlier cashier or retail experience preferred

- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

- Excellent customer service and communication skills.

- Ability to manage multiple tasks.

Other Requirements:

- Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift to twenty-five pounds.

- Availability to work flexible hours, including Saturdays
