Mandarin-Speaking Nanny/Family Assistant Needed for San Diego Family

We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Mandarin-speaking nanny/family assistant to join our San Diego-based family. Our household consists of a 6.5-year-old girl, a 3-year-old boy who is potty trained, and two elderly grandmothers who require some assistance with shopping, appointments, etc. We're looking for a live-out professional who can provide excellent childcare while assisting with various household tasks and supporting our elderly family members.

Details:

Position Type: Full-time, live-out

Location: San Diego, CA

Schedule: Monday to Friday, with few weekend days and some nights, specific hours to be discussed

Start Date: As soon as available

Compensation: $70,720/yr, non-exempt, salaried position

Key Responsibilities:

Provide attentive and nurturing care for our two children

Engage children in age-appropriate activities, including Mandarin language instruction and practice

Assist with meal preparation and feeding for the children

Maintain a clean and safe environment for the children

Assist with light housekeeping related to childcare

Transport children to and from school, activities, and appointments as needed

Collaborate with parents to ensure consistent routines and discipline approaches

Some office work and correspondence

Scheduling: Managing calendars, organizing meetings, and coordinating appointments.

Reminders: Setting reminders for important deadlines, meetings, and events.

Shopping: Purchasing personal or professional items as needed.

Point of Contact: Acting as the primary point of contact between the employer and other parties.

Privacy: Handling sensitive information with the utmost confidentiality.

Discretion: Maintaining discretion in all personal and professional matters.

Additional Responsibilities for Elderly Grandmothers:

Assist with basic daily activities for the grandmothers, such as shopping and light housekeeping

Provide companionship and engage in activities with the grandmothers

Help with medication reminders (administration to be overseen by family members)

Accompany grandmothers to medical appointments when needed

Support intergenerational activities between the children and grandmothers

Be attentive to the grandmothers' needs and report any concerns to` family members

Qualifications:

Fluency in English and Mandarin (conversational Mandarin is okay)

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Minimum of 2 years of professional childcare experience

Experience working with or caring for elderly individuals is a plus

First Aid and CPR certification

Strong communication and organizational skills

Ability to multitask and adapt to changing situations

Passion for child development and education

Compassion and patience in working with elderly individuals

Physical ability to assist both children and elderly family members as needed
