Associate Research DirectorLocation: This position will work a hybrid model (remote and office). The Ideal candidate will live within 50 miles of one of our Elevance Health PulsePoint locations.A proud member of the Elevance Health family of companies, Carelon Research , formerly HealthCore, Inc., works with life sciences companies, payers and providers, and government and academic organizations to provide real-world evidence in support of a wide variety of healthcare decisions.The Associate Research Director will be responsible for overseeing a series of projects assigned to them and all aspects of the project lifecycle for their portfolio of projects for Carelon Research clients.How you will make an impact:
Client management, including responding to RFP’s for research, developing study budgets and amendments
Oversees management of the portfolio of projects including project status, quality, and deliverables
Communicates project status, timelines, end product and analysis results and value messages to internal and external customers or partners
Proactively evaluates project performance against plan
Executes and contributes to the design of research studies in concert with our clients and/or business partners
Ensures processes are followed in all areas of the project lifecycle
Responsible for allocation of resources on project team, and is involved in hiring and interviewing decisions and will have a formal mentorship relationship with junior level team members
Minimum Requirements:Requires a MS, MPH, PharmD, PhD, or MD in business or a life sciences field and at least 5 years of experience in health service research, epidemiology, health policy, economics or related field, and at least 3 years of progressive responsibility experience in leading project teams in Health Outcomes including managing client interactions; or any combination of education and experience which would provide an equivalent background.Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences:
Extensive experience conducting research using healthcare databases (i.e. administrative claims data) strongly preferred
Expertise in data science and analytic methods and using statistical tools (SAS, R, Instant Health Data) is strongly preferred
Experience developing research reports, dashboards, and data visualization deliverables using industry leading tools (example, Tableau) and healthcare data is strongly preferred
