The 5th Judicial District is looking for someone to join the Court Administration team as a Judicial Specialist 2. The Judicial Branch is a great place to work, offers great benefits and excellent hours. This is a full time - 40 hours per week - position with office hours from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and a one-hour lunch break. May include some weekend duty and travel.Responsibilities: Job duties include but are not limited to: Preparing schedules and Managing court calendar and judge's schedule Judge and jury support for trials Maintaining pleasant demeanor while working in a fast paced environment Coordinating scheduling with outer agencies to include county attorney, public defender and private bar Coordinating interpreter services for court hearings The ability and desire to learn multiple computer systems including Iowa’s case management system and Electronic Document Management System. Positions in this class are exempt from the screening and referral requirements of the Iowa Department of Administrative Services - Human Resources Enterprise.Minimum Qualification RequirementsGraduation from an accredited high school (or High School Equivalency) and two (2) years of successful completion of accredited post high school education in business, paralegal, computer, legal assistant or related program. Two (2) years of professional office experience in business, court or legal work or a related area with one (1) year of the experience involving customer service. At the discretion of the appointing authority additional years of experience may be substituted for the required post high school education.Or, the successful completion of additional years of education (i.e., Bachelor’s Degree) may be substituted for years of experience on the basis that successful completion of thirty (30) semester hours or academic equivalent equals one year of experience.
