Occupational Therapist at Alzheimers Services of the East Bay
Schedule: Monday - Friday; 9:00am - 3:00pm

Major Function:
The Occupational Therapist assesses the functional capabilities of the Adult Day Health Care participants; provides and supervises individual treatment plans; acts as a consultant to ADHC staff; and is a member of the multidisciplinary team
Qualifications:
The Occupational Therapist must have a Master's Degree in Occupational Therapy; be registered by the American Occupational Therapy Association as certified by the California Medical Board; and have one year experience working with the dementia population. Experience in working in a multi-disciplinary team is preferred.
Duties:
● Evaluate the participants' physical condition and functional status. Establish goals and set up treatment plans to administer occupational therapy
● Provide occupational therapy; instruct and demonstrate to families and others the occupational therapy and rehabilitation procedures indicated by the participant's treatment plan.
● Provide general instruction to principles of occupational therapy to staff as needed.
● Record in participants' chart services given, maintain progress notes and schedule participants
for further treatment.
● Meet all administrative requirements such as attending multi-disciplinary team meetings, creating/maintaining participant care plans, etc.
● Conduct quarterly assessments for each ADHC participants
● Train and provide on-going supervision to therapy aides.
● Monitor the effectiveness of therapy program.
● Develop therapy programming to fit the needs of ADHC participants.
● Other duties as assigned.
