Mechanical Engineer
Responsible for supporting environmental testing of electronic assemblies, chassis and circuit cards. The Environmental lab provides critical 24/7 testing for more than 50 Defense & Space programs.Apply Engineering principles and discipline to the development of environments to meet program requirements for dynamic and climatic testing, design of fixtures, design of tooling, writing test procedures and test reports. Ability to meet technical schedule and cost requirements for assigned projects/tasks. interface with both program staff and customers to support technical definition and execution of environmental testing. Assist Technicians with environmental equipment failures. Lead efforts in troubleshooting/maintenance/repair to quickly return equipment back to ready status. Anticipate problems, recognize and eliminate barriers. Plan and organize complex technical tasks.Keep management apprised of program status, resource issues, and program roadblocks.Position requires good people skills and the ability to work effectively with other organizations and individuals at all levels. Must adapt well to a changing environment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: · Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. · Minimum 1 year of test experience in an Environmental Engineering environment. · Due to export control regulations, US Citizenship is required. WE VALUE: · Experience with Dynamic testing: electrodynamic shakers, pyro, and acceleration. · Experience with Climatic and Pressure testing. · Experience supporting tests using MIL-Standards 202 and 810. · Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
