Description We are looking for a Controller to join our team in Honolulu, Hawaii. The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all accounting functions, managing a small team, and maintaining budget and forecasting activities. This role is also responsible for fund allocations, forecasting, financial reporting, and strategic planning. If interested in this role, please call Noe Silva at 808.452.0264. Preference will be given to applicants currently residing in Hawaii due to the nature of the job requirements.Responsibilities: Oversee and manage all accounting functions within the organization Supervise a small team, ensuring efficiency and accuracy in their work Initiate and maintain budget and forecasting activities to ensure financial stability Take responsibility for fund allocations, ensuring they are correctly and appropriately distributed Carry out forecasting duties, predicting future financial trends and operations Compile and present financial reporting, providing detailed and accurate financial information Engage in strategic planning, helping to guide the future direction of the organization Develop, prepare, and monitor budgets to help control spending and increase profitability Work effectively under pressure and meet strict deadlines Apply Fund Accounting practices in the non-profit sectorRequirements Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience in a Controller role or similar financial leadership position. Proficiency in Monthly Financial Statements, Financial Reporting, and Audit Compliance is required. Experience in Fund Accounting, particularly in a non-profit setting, is essential. Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are crucial for this role. Requires strong leadership abilities and excellent interpersonal skills. Must have a solid understanding of financial management principles. Candidates should have a proven ability to develop and implement financial and operational controls. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are necessary. Proficiency in various financial software applications and platforms is expected. Must have a strong ethical stance and commitment to company values. A bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field is required; an MBA or related advanced degree is preferred. Professional certification such as CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is desirable. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines is required. Strong strategic planning and financial analysis skills are necessary.
