Petroleum On-site Superintendent

As a leader in the Pacific Northwest in the petroleum industry, specializing in the installation and maintenance of underground and above ground fuel systems. We are seeking an experienced construction professional for our on-site Superintendent opening. This position directs and coordinates activities for the construction of fuel stations and their facilities. Superintendents oversee various projects, manage laborers and work with sub-contractors. This position requires extensive travel and frequent overnight stays.

Job Summary: Acts as lead person on construction projects and oversees scheduling, and implementation. Executes daily coordination of project and other construction related activities. Assist field personnel on site as necessary and monitor field activity. This person must have strong management skills to oversee the job from start to finish.

Responsibilities:

Supervise small to large ground-up new fuel systems.

Have the ability to obtain a state specific UST installation and decommissioning license.

Supervise & coordinate all construction activities.

Maintain & execute the project plan as laid out by PM, schedule & ensure compliance with budget, schedule, plans and specifications.

Maintain a clean, organized & safe work environment by adhering to all safety practices & regulations: maintain record keeping requirements.

Manage, store & protect all on-site materials, tools, small & heavy equipment.

Advise PM of potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts; anticipate & resolve project issues & schedule difficulties.

Identify any issues or problems before they arise.

Oversee quality control as determined both by industry standards and the expectations of our customers.

Advanced knowledge of OSHA requirements and how to successfully execute an OSHA site visit.

Maintain written daily log reports, submit receipts and paperwork on a weekly basis.

Coordinate routine inspections and filling out of required DOE/DEQ paperwork.

Engage and build relationships with our customers, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.

Requirements:

10+ years of field management experience in the fuel construction industry.

Strong work ethic.

Read and understand engineering and architect drawings as required.

Ability to operate heavy equipment.

OSHA certified a plus.

Establish & maintain high crew morale, model sound leadership and teamwork.

Schedule delivery of needed materials, company crews and equipment requests.

Ensure project proceeds in a timely manner; maintain PM schedule.

Manage tool & materials inventory for each project. Ensure unused materials are accounted for and tools from inventory are returned in working order.
