Description A growing nonprofit DTLA is looking for a Staff Accountant to join their team! This is an exciting opportunity to join a growing company. This is a contract to hire opportunity fully ONSITE in the Downtown Los Angeles office. If you are a staff accountant with 2+ years of experience, we encourage you to apply today! Responsibilities: Carry out daily financial transactions such as verification, classification, and recording of accounting data. Oversee and review the general ledger, and reconcile balance sheets. Analyze and summarize the financial status of the organization. Engage in the annual budget preparation and implementation processes. Generate accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in a timely manner. Assist in internal and external auditing procedures. Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal policies. Collaborate with the financial team on annual budget review. Monitor compliance with laws relating to financial management within non-profit organizations. Manage payroll function to ensure accurate and timely processing of salary payments. Utilize software such as NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, SAP for various accounting tasks. Apply skills in Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), Bank Reconciliations, General Ledger, Journal Entries, and Month End Close.Requirements Possession of a minimum of 2 years of experience in a Staff Accountant role or similar. Demonstrated proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP) and Accounts Receivable (AR). Proficient in performing Bank Reconciliations. Experience in maintaining and managing the General Ledger. Ability to prepare and record Journal Entries accurately. Expertise in executing Month End Close procedures. Familiarity with accounting software like NetSuite, Oracle, QuickBooks, and SAP. Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is preferred. Strong analytical skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion in business relationships. Demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and manage time efficiently. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
