DescriptionPCSI is looking for a Vice President of Business Development! The VP of Business Development develops short- and long-term strategies for growing the business to provide more employment opportunities for people with disabilities and veterans. Current strategic focuses include AbilityOne and Federal contracts, new lines of business and new industries, and partnerships with other nonprofits. The VP of Business Development also facilitates introductions to new potential customers and maintains excellent relationships with existing ones.This position reports to and partners closely with the Senior VP of Business Development. We are looking for someone with strategic business development experience and background in federal service contracts. This department is based out of our south Austin office on a hybrid basis; hybrid preferred, remote may be considered if circumstances require.Who We Are:PCSI is a non-profit organization whose mission is to enhance the lives of people with disabilities through employment, advocacy, and partnerships. Develop contracting opportunities, for PCSI Texas LLC and PCSI, that will employ individuals with disabilities.
Initiate business development strategies and coordinate actions to provide growth for the company.
Support business development and marketing activities, including pipelines, trade/conferences, mailings, etc.
Develop business partnerships for PCSI to be either the Prime- or Sub-Contractor on Ability One and Federal Contracts.
Clarify goals and reach agreement maintaining the interests of all parties and multiple stakeholders.
Proactively develop services through understanding clients’ needs.
Build and maintain excellent relationships with colleagues, partners and clients.
Set sales targets and define strategy to achieve these targets; follow the set strategy punctually.
Manage the proposal development process and maintain the timelines for the proposal teams.
Develop draft proposal concepts based on coordinated meetings and discussions with other Business Development Team members.
Maintain the Business Development databases.
Build a long- and short-term strategic business plan that provides direction for future sustainability and growth.
Organize, compose and capture information to chart a course of action for obtaining goals.
Promote a client centric culture that fosters cooperation, trust and teamwork.
Devise an effective implementation plan that can be executed when taking over a new contract.
Facilitate meetings with potential clients to develop confidence in partnering with PCSI and PCSI Texas.
Professionally represent the company with high-level customers to drive business goals.
Prepare proposals, contracts and other documents. Must have a thorough knowledge of all contract details so information can be shared with others.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education and experience.
Minimum ten (10) years of experience in business development management.
Experience in federal service contracting required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Ability to write technical business proposals (Government and Federal).
Experience utilizing Deltek’s GovWin database product is a plus.
Experience working within Shipley & Associates Business Development Lifecycle is a plus.
Requires knowledge of PC functions and software.
Operations of Windows applications and intermediate knowledge of Microsoft (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, etc.).
Strong ability to communicate, orally and in writing.
Ability to set and manage priorities - self-starter, able to work with minimal direction and supervision.
Ability and willingness to exert disciplinary action as needed.
Ability to interpret policies, procedures and regulations.
Ability to work as a team member.
Willingness to continue learning.
Other Requirements:
Ability to pass criminal, drug, financial, and driving screening.
Ability to legally drive a company vehicle.
Ability to exchange accurate information in person and over the phone.
Primarily works indoors.
Extensive travel may be required, up to 50%.
