About MCC-SF:

Chartered in 1970, the Metropolitan Community Church of San Francisco (MCC-SF) is a house of prayer for all people and a home for queer spirituality. Although grounded in the Christian tradition, the Church’s members are drawn from all faith traditions (and from people of no faith tradition). The Church holds two primary hybrid (both in-person and online) weekly services: a Sunday morning worship service (with a mix of both traditional and progressive music) and Wednesday evening candlelight service (with contemplative music and mediation). The congregations for both services are diverse, urban, and predominantly LGBTQI/gender-variant in nature, although the church explicitly welcomes persons of all backgrounds and those with or without faith traditions. Because of the historical discrimination against LGBTQI persons in society in general, and in the Christian church in particular, MCC-SF is a refuge for those seeking spiritual solace and regular spiritual practice that is affirming of each person’s individuality and identity.
