Description We are seeking a Human Resources (HR) Manager to join our team in the non-profit industry, based in Sacramento, California. In this role, you will be responsible for developing HR strategies, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring compliance with California labor law and federal regulations. This role offers a short term contract employment opportunity.Responsibilities: Develop and implement corporate plans for HR matters including compensation, benefits, health, safety, etc. Oversee the use of HR software for payroll, benefits, performance management, and record keeping. Devise strategies for performance evaluation, staffing, training, and development. Ensure adherence to California labor law and other federal regulations in all HR practices. Swiftly address grievances and other issues in compliance with legal regulations. Conduct thorough research to ensure the company’s HR procedures stay updated with new regulations. Lead the company’s efforts in employee communications and recognition. Monitor adherence to internal policies and legal standards. Oversee the work of HR personnel and provide guidance. Manage all HR initiatives, systems, tactics, and procedures across the company. Requirements Proficiency in managing Benefit Functions within the non-profit sector Excellent Communication skills, both written and verbal Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Compliance, particularly in relation to non-profit organizations Significant experience in Employee Relations, including conflict resolution and fostering a positive work environment Familiarity with Hiring Processes, including interviewing and onboarding In-depth understanding and knowledge of California Labor Law Ability to develop, implement and evaluate HR policies and procedures Experience in strategic planning and implementation Proficiency in using HR software and databases Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills Bachelor's degree in Human Resources or related field is preferred Certification in Human Resources (such as PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP) is desirable.
