We focus on finding engineers whose personalities lead them to excellence, and we provide exceptional opportunities for our employees.CMTA has an immediate need for an experienced Construction Administrator to join our diverse team of engineering professionals in the Charlotte, NC office. The position will be responsible for managing project specifications and serving in an administrative role to manage and oversee contract/construction documents. This is a full-time, in-office position, with working hours Monday through Friday, with opportunities for professional growth within the organization.Required Experience:

Minimum 2+ years of experience working with specifications in the Architectural, Engineering or Construction field

Knowledgeable of CSI MasterFormat; CDT Certification is a plus.

Experience with MasterSpec, VisiSpec, SpecLink or other spec editing platforms.

Proficiency with Adobe/Bluebeam and Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel.

Proficiency with Electronic Document Management Systems such as Newforma and Procore.

Qualifications

Thorough understanding of the processes involved in projects specifications (schematics through 100% construction specifications), Coordination with Design Review Agencies, Addenda, Bidding Processes, Shop Drawing Reviews, RFIs, Construction Administration, Change Orders, Pay Apps and Closeout Documentation.

Demonstrated capability in coordinating with multiple design team members to process and deliver quality specifications and construction documents. Individual must be quality conscious, team-oriented, and possess flexibility as needed to work with different designer skill levels.

Manage schedule to meet critical deadlines.

High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and ability to multi-task.

Strong oral and written communication skills including ability to listen and understand internal customer expectations.

Responsibilities

Participate in the creation and maintenance of specification masters.

Oversee the development of project specifications involving multiple design team members.

Review, format, and edit project specifications.

Provide office wide support for all specification needs.

Coordinate specifications templates, formats, and schedules with clients.

Oversee bid document production and schedules for “Prime” projects.

Assure compliance with project contract language with attention to current code requirements and current manufacturer information.

Distribution and coordination of design documents to state and local review agencies.

Coordinate project bid activities, including addenda, bid document distribution, scheduling, project contracts, etc.

Assist with construction administration document processing activities including shop drawings, RFI’s, change orders, pay apps and closeout documents.

Technical editing of deliverables which consists of prooing and working with technical staff to edit documents for format, clarity, consistency, grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

Maintain and update electronic construction plan sets.

Assist with maintaining project schedules and logs.

Communicate clearly and effectively with both internal staff and external clients regarding project inquiries or procedures/requirements.

Provide general office support as part of the administrative team.
