Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob DescriptionImprove training and standardization of operations such as operator control panel interfacing, measurements, machine offsets, tool changes, resetting alarms, and coolant maintenance. Identify and implement kaizen improvements such as short stop reduction, cause and effect identification/solution, fatigue reduction, and single piece flow. Use statistical methods to understand process variability, capability, and drive process improvements while developing contingency plans for capacity/productivity changes. Manage documentation such as SOPs, control plans, forms, check-sheets, inspection records, engineering drawings, etc. Support Business and Department Action Plan objectives focusing on scrap reduction, streamline manpower, and cost reductions. Lead investigations and make recommendations for cost reduction activities related to man, machine, methods, and materials. Apply Lean Manufacturing philosophies. Collect and interpret engineering data such as machine cycle time, motion analysis, capacity planning, tooling design, ergonomics, process layout, cost reduction, etc. Select tools and consumable materials necessary for cost and time efficient manufacturing. Work with vendors to determine product specifications, support arranging the purchase of equipment, materials, or parts, and evaluate products according to specifications and quality standards. Support plant activities to achieve customer awards and quality registrations such as IATF16949. Prepare capital requests and synchronize site functions through all phases of process improvements including new assets. Ensure compliance to scope, cost, and schedule. Support activities centered on new product launches, technical problem solving, process improvement, and resolving engineering design and quality challenges. Support the Quality department in the design of gauges and fixtures.Hard Skills
