LM Catering & Events include the Back of House operation at Hilton Orrington-Evanston, City View Loft, Kitchen Chicago, Lacuna Events by LM, LM Studio, and Twenty-Six Event venue and Sky on Nine.
Location Highlight
Evanston Corner Bistro is our newest location of LM’s popular bistro concept. The restaurant just opened on October 13,2023, on the ground floor of the Hilton Orrington’s Hotel in the heart of Evanston. The menu focuses on affordable contemporary dishes which highlights our fresh, local, and seasonal ingredients. The restaurant features a light filled dining room, an expansive bar, separate private dining areas, as well as an outdoor covered terrace with heat lamps so diners can take advantage of patio season even as the temperature drops.
Job Description
LM Restaurant Group is looking for a talented Server to join our team at Evanston Corner Bistro. The primary focus of this position will be to ensure the guests are having a pleasurable experience from the moment they enter the restaurant until they leave. You will be responsible for taking orders, providing menu recommendations for in-house and carryout dining, accurately entering orders into POS systems, cash handling, opening, and closing side work, and sanitation and table maintenance.
What will I be doing?
As a Server, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
Must Practice a full hands full hand out mentality.
Provide excellent customer service.
Ask customers for allergies or dietary restrictions at end of taking order.
Table maintenance- offering assistance to guests by clearing away dishes, glassware, and refilling beverages if needed. As well as maintaining a tidy section.
Learn the menu and how to pronounce each item, as well as seat numbers.
Run food from kitchen and drinks from bar to guests' table and provide accurate description of the dish and/or drinks to customers.
Responsible for having a strong food knowledge base as well as a very detailed understanding and memorization of the current menu items which include all alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks as well as food and specials.
Provide information/suggestions based on the customers preferences.
Deliver food and drinks to tables (not just your own) and ensure guests have all they need.
Ability to work in a team environment with a positive attitude.
Responsible for cleanliness and stocking of service areas throughout shift.
Follow all company safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
Side work services, including but not limited to emptying trash, spot sweeping, and any other needs upon manager’s request (refer to server checklist).
Must actively use creative upselling techniques to sell our products.
Cash handling and handle all payment method.
Perform opening and closing side work in a timely manner.
Assist food runner and bartender with opening and closing side work.
Cooperate and communicate with all management, servers, servers’ assistants, bartenders, and kitchen staff.
Perform other duties as required by Management to provide 100% Guest Satisfaction

Ability to lift up to 15 pounds regularly and 30 pounds on occasion

What are the Qualifications?
1+ years of serving experience in a high-volume restaurant
Food Handlers, Allergens Certification & Basset within 30 days of employment
High School diploma/GED (preferred)
Open availability including mornings and weekends.
