Scripps Green offers a wide range of clinical and surgical services, including organ transplantation, oncology care, cardiothoracic and orthopedic surgery, interventional cardiology and blood and bone marrow transplantation. The Definitive Observation Unit (DOU) is fast-paced and licensed for 32 beds. This DOU commonly cares for Stroke and Neuro patients where the nurse to patient ratio is 1:3 or 1:4.Join our Stepdown / DOU as an RN at Scripps Green Hospital. You will be responsible for monitoring the vital signs of post-operation patients and also notify the doctor of any problems or changes and maintain communication with the patient and their families.As a Definitive Observation RN, you will be amongst a team that is dedicated to creating an environment that is focused on restoring function and optimizing care, while maintaining the respect, autonomy and individuality of every patient. This unit boasts private patient rooms, many with a gorgeous view of the Pacific Ocean and Torrey Pines Golf Course.This is a Full Time, 12-hour Night Shift, position at Scripps Green Hospital.New Hire and Relocation Incentive eligible. In order to remain eligible for your retention incentive the following criteria must be met :
Must remain in original hired FTE Status and Shift (if specified in offer letter)
Must remain in original department/specialty
Must remain in original Job Title
Transfers to other locations will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis and may result in forfeiting remaining incentive bonus unless specifically noted in your offer letter.
Required Qualifications:
Registered nursing degree from an accredited school of nursing
Current CA RN License
One (1) year of RN experience, 6 months in Inpatient environment
Current American Heart Association, Healthcare Provider, BLS Certification
Must be able to speak, read and follow instructions in English
Must be able to demonstrate positive behaviors
Preferred Qualifications:
Six (6) months of RN experience Tele, DOU, PCU or Stepdown
ACLS certification
NIHSS certification
Bachelor's degree in Nursing
