Office Administrator - Local Tax Office
We are a small friendly accounting firm in Eureka seeking to fill an office manager position. This would be a full-time benefitted position 32-40 hours with the option of part-time during the off seasons for the right candidate. The hours can vary greatly depending on candidate needs.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- 3+ years working as an office administrator or comparable position
- Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize
- Capable of working independently with little oversight
- Proficient in applying critical thinking and problem-solving skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficient with MS Office software including Word and Excel
- Experience with or open to learning tax, accounting, and bookkeeping is a plus
Primary duties include:
- Provide comprehensive administrative support to all employees
- Assembly of previously prepared tax returns for mailing or presentation to the client
- Act as a liaison between clients and accountants
- Assist in billing maintenance, mailings & office supply management
- Electronic submission of documentation
- Assist with answering phones, managing office schedule, and coordinating appointments
- Oversee and coordinate the workflow within the office
- Handle private, privileged and/or sensitive information with absolute confidentiality
- Scan and organize tax documents into a digital filing system
