Commercial HVAC/VRF project manager (Doral, Florida)

Comfortside LLC, an established company specializing in wholesale of residential, light commercial and commercial HVAC

equipment, is seeking to employ a Commercial HVAC/VRF Project Manager to join its team.

The person in this position will perform the following Job Duties:

Communicate with clients to determine project requirements and objectives.

Create project status presentations for delivery to customers or project personnel.

Develop and/or update project plans and track project schedule.

Review or select contractors to meet project needs.

Monitor project milestones and deliverables.

Plan, schedule, or coordinate project activities.

Prepare and submit project reports.

Propose, review, or approve modifications to project plans.

Request and review project updates to ensure deadlines are met.

Develop plans and/or review mechanical engineering designs.

Confer with contractors and design engineers to identify and resolve problems.

Train commercial HVAC department personnel.

Conduct training to certify contractors for working with VRF systems.

Confer with the commercial HVAC department personnel to keep informed on workload, status of operations, parts and equipment requirements, to identify and resolve all running problems.

Be on call and ready to respond to emergency repair calls 24/7.

Employment Type /Hours: Full Time Position.

Candidate Requirements:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.

Experience:

Minimum 12 months of experience in HVAC/VRF project management performing the following duties:

Determining HVAC/VRF project requirements.

Developing, updating, and approving modifications to HVAC/VRF project plans, including objectives, technologies, schedules, funding, and staffing.

Reviewing mechanical engineering designs.

Preparing equipment/materials budget estimates, progress reports, and cost tracking reports.

Selecting and training personnel on HVAC/VRF equipment/software installation, configuration, maintenance, and repair.

Planning, scheduling, coordinating project activities, tracking project schedules, monitoring milestones and deliverables, and requesting/reviewing project updates to ensure deadlines are met.

Selecting contractors and conferring with contractors and design engineers to identify and resolve problems.

Technical Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

Strong and in-depth knowledge and understanding of HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Advanced understanding of layout design fabrication, installation, troubleshooting and maintenance of VRF systems.

Ability to manage a project from development and stakeholder engagement through implementation and evaluation.

Ability to read, interpret, utilize and train on manuals, schematics and control circuits related to HVAC and refrigeration systems.

Experience in ensuring safe working conditions for dealing with electrical equipment and utilizing appropriate safety equipment.

Operating knowledge and experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and selection software for VRF systems.

Ability to work at heights and on ladders.

Good verbal and written English communication skills.

Travel Requirements:

To perform duties, travel is required at least 10-20 times per year across various US states.
