Bander - Day Shift - ENTRY POSITION; WE TRAIN!
Mt Baker Products is a premier manufacturer of decorative plywood used for cabinetry, furniture and interiors throughout North America. Our company uses veneers like cherry, walnut and oak to produce high end panels for the woodworking industry.
We currently have an immediate opening for a Bander to join our team. This is an ENTRY-LEVEL position where you'll receive ON-THE-JOB TRAINING. We promote from within, providing opportunities for cross training and employee development.
STARTING PAY RATE: $19.00/hour
SCHEDULE: The Bander is a full-time position on the day shift (5 am to 1:30 pm, Mon-Fri), with the potential to work overtime, including Saturdays, as needed.
BANDER RESPONSIBILITIES:
The primary duty of this position is to run the banding station and fasten bands around loads that are ready to ship out.
This requires checking to make sure loads of plywood are properly packaged and marked and counting each load to verify that the order is correct according to the associated ticket.
This is a collaborative position, working with others to maintain a safe and clean work area. Safety procedures, including wearing personal protective equipment (PPE), are followed at all times.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Be at least 18 years of age at time of hire.
Be safety-minded at all times while keeping to an assigned production schedule.
Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) assigned and follow all safety procedures.
Able to work cooperatively and collaboratively as part of a team, within and across departments.
Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and stand for long periods of time.
Ability to learn and identify differences between product grades and species, and to spot marks, scratches and other product irregularities.
