Montessori Preschool Garden/Outdoor Teacher (9 am to 5 pm)

Corte Madera Montessori has been serving the families of beautiful Marin County for 32 years. We are committed to the authentic implementation of Montessori which we believe supports children’s individual holistic development so they can flourish and thrive. We have one toddler classroom and two primary classrooms that are led by trained Montessori teachers. Our sunlit classrooms and large play spaces provide spacious and beautiful environments for our children and staff.

We are seeking a Garden/Outdoor Teacher to support our school. This person would manage our “outdoor classroom” with garden plots, easel painting and other outdoor oriented activities. They would also serve as our first line substitute in the event of a teacher absence and would support our after school program and other classroom needs.

Responsibilities

Set up and maintain outdoor classroom activities

Supervise/guide children in the outdoor classroom

Supervise children in our afterschool program

Support classrooms as needed

Substitute in the event of teacher absences

Our ideal candidate has:

Experience leading children in a preschool setting (Montessori school experience preferred)

Experience leading children in outdoor/garden setting preferred

Minimum 12 ECE units ( including 3 Administration units)

Desire to learn and be an integral member of a team

A positive and friendly disposition

CPR certification (preferred)

Compensation/Benefits:

$27 - $29 per hour (depending on experience)

5 Paid Sick days after 30 days

6 weeks paid school vacations, plus calendar holidays
